if your interested in racing the world famous Aintree Grand National is only a short train ride away.  Chester Race Course and Haddock Park are also not  too far away. If you want a quiet stay away from the crowds in Liverpool for the big day then we are the ideal place to stay.

Tuesday, December 1, 2015 – Aintree Racecourse announces the start time of the Crabbie’s Grand National will move one hour from 16.15 to the new scheduled time of 17.15 on Saturday, April 9, 2016.

In collaboration with Channel 4, Aintree’s broadcast partner, the change in start time is to provide an opportunity for more racing fans to watch and listen to the greatest chase in the world, live on Channel 4 and other global media outlets. This is a great opportunity for British Racing to reach the maximum possible audience and to provide even more people with the opportunity to watch the ‘People’s Race’.

The 2015 Crabbie’s Grand National was watched by 8.9 million TV viewers on Channel 4, the largest peak for the Grand National in Channel 4’s history, with more than 600 million TV viewers tuning in worldwide. Research has shown that the later time may maximise an even bigger domestic and global TV audience, which will make the race more accessible to watch live. It has also demonstrated that most people don’t currently know the start time is at 16.15, which has also been shown by research on most UK sports events.
